Wema Centre is a Kenyan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and also registered by the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Development as a children’s institution. It was founded in 1993 as a response to an ever-increasing problem of street children in Mombasa and the Coast region. The center started as a home in Likoni for young street girls catering for only 6 street girls in a rented three bedroomed house. The home was re-located to Bamburi Utange in 1997. Wema Center has since expanded its work reaching over 10,000 children through various activities such as education, vocational training, psychosocial support, and outreach. Currently, Wema has two sites in Mombasa and one in Thika while the outreach program covers four districts, Kinango, Kisauni, Mombasa, and Thika in Coast and Central Provinces.

Baharibeach Hotel supports Wema Centre as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
