Through the ‘Ocean Love Initiative’ Bahari Beach Hotel, Mombasa carries out regular beach clean-ups within the beachfront in which it’s located. This initiative, which began in 2017 involves both guests and staff. A garbage bag dedicated to this exercise has been strategically placed near the beach. The facility also supports annual beach clean-ups organized by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). The support includes the provision of beverages and garbage bags. For instance, during the beach cleanup carried out in September 2019, the facility provided crates of soda to the students participating in the exercise. The hotel supports KWS rangers stationed within its premises through provision of food, water, and lavatory facilities. The facility carries out tree planting within its premises. These are mainly palm trees. Read more here.
